Happy 2 years of Joy!

It broke my heart when I saw little Yusi waving goodbye to me on my way to work from lunch and told me to be back at 2 by gesturing his index and middle fingers. I could tell he was sad that I was leaving but understood that I will be back soon to take him to get his cake and celebrate his "Happy to yee" - A day he has been waiting for a quarter of his life. Can't believe he is actually 2 today! He is growing up so fast, physically he is still tiny but is growing  by leaps and bounds mentally and socially Mashallah!  He understands how to make each member of the family happy and also knows exactly what to do to push our buttons.

Whenever he is being disciplined he knows to scream for... Babaaaaa!! As no matter what happens Abba is always on his side and lets him get away with anything. Amma is a little less lenient but melts pretty quickly as soon as he bats his big doe eyes in front of her and says Daduuu (his name for her)!! She is the one with all the loot, so. All the lollipops and Halloween/goody bag candy is stashed in her closet somewhere which only she knows and Yusi somehow finds, as he has to get into everything of everyones'.  Just yesterday he got his hands in my purse when I wasn't looking and got my gum out (which he has always been curious about) unwrapped it, and started chewing it frantically when he saw me look from upstairs. Isa quickly ran to the rescue (as the over protective brother that he is) and forced the gum out of his mouth and left the over-dramatic Yusuf wailing behind!
He has definitely become a master of tantrums which is new to us as we never experienced that with Isa. He will just lie flat or upside down on the floor and cry if he doesn't get something he wants, but it only really lasts a few minutes.  After which he is ready to cuddle for a looong time. He is an extremely loving  individual who feels for everyone around him. He will tear up if he sees anyone in any sort of pain or making a sad face, and will quickly kiss the wound to make the pain go away. He is especially affectionate towards his new cousin Talha (now 3 months). He just thinks Talha is the cutest thing ever and can't contain his excitement when he sees him.  He starts shouting "Baby Ta Baby Ta" and wants to kiss him and hug him tight.  The poor little Baby T (who really is the cutest thing ever) has even gotten used to Yusi's manhandling.

Yusuf's other victim is of course is Isa who has the ability to bring out the best in him and the worst in him at the same time. He just always wants what Isa has and will scream "Oto Oto" (His way of saying Yusuf - don't ask!) at the top of his lungs till he gets what he wants. Actually 80% of the time we hear "Oto Oto" at 1981(our house), because Oto as always wants something that someone else has or do something that someone else is doing. Which can include feeding Talha, sweeping the floor, making the bed, doing homework with Isa, blowing the leaves outside, vacuuming, spraying Windex (once in his mouth - Thank God the trigger was off) etc etc. He is our little help who is anything but help, however we wouldn't know how to function without him.

Happy Birthday to the light, sound and action of our house, may he continue to bring us infinite amounts of Joy!! Aameen!
