The Tooth ..continued

The Hole -Tooth!

Yesterday when I went home form work, Isa was naturally very excited showing off his tooth and hole in mouth to everyone. He was taking his tiny little tooth everywhere with him. I told him he needs to keep it in a safe place until tonight when it will be time for him to put it under the pillow just in time for the tooth fairy to come and take it away and leave him a present. He finally put it in a drawer and went to Walmart with Ajee, Yusuf and I . We were done shopping and were just about to leave Wal-Mart when suddenly Ajee realized that we had forgotten something very important. I gestured him to go buy it while I keep the kids entertained. He told us he really needs to run to the restroom and left. Yusuf as usual was having a ball as he was allowed to run loose in this huge store. Ajee called and it was finally time for us to head back, he had hid the gift in the car so no one could see it. By the time we got home it was Isa's bed time.

While Isa was in bed, Yusuf was spreading Medicated Desitin all over his face, lips and hair. He looked like Casper. It was not a fun task to clean up, but I must say diaper rash cream must be good for the face as although he was smelling like a hospital, he was looking really bright and refreshed after the clean up.

After dealing with Yusi, I went up to Isa's room and saw Isa sitting with Ajee in the dark just bawling with tears and sniffs and everything.
What happened?
"I don't want to give up my tooth I want to keep it for ever..Its my tooth..and I don't want a present..I just want my tooth..Boohooo!!!"
Awww...thats so cute, it is always so hard for him to part with anything. I remember he cried for days when Ajee sold his old Civic and when I  wrecked my CRV, he wanted to keep the old car and fix it instead of buy a nicer and newer one. And this definitely was even more serious - it is HIS Tooth, his own flesh and blood - that he has had attached to him his entire life!! I hugged him hard and kissed his teary, salty cheek  and couldn't stop wondering how adorable and innocent he was, just like when he first got that tooth.
Ajee and I smirked at each other and gave each other "all that for nothing" sort of looks and calmed him down by telling him to keep his tooth in the drawer instead of under the pillow and go to sleep. Ajee still put the gift under the pillow as he had worked so hard for it and wanted Isa to have it, plus I think its a Batman trilogy DVD movie set that he wanted to watch with Isa over the holidays.
This morning I wasn't sure what happened so I e-mailed Ajee asking about the outcome:

Did Isa find his gift from the tooth fairy ?

He did, he was amazed, I acted as if I did not know, who bought it initially but kept asking me in the car if I was the one who kept it there. I did not want to scare him as he was thinking deeply in the car about how it got there so I told him the truth right before dropping him.

So what about the tooth?

It’s in the drawer and he wants to keep it. When he woke up he said he did not want any gifts and instead wanted to keep the tooth.
-Ajee

So I guess we will be keeping the tooth while Ajee will be enjoying Dark Knight over the holidays!
