Year ONE was so much fun! :)

My Shining little Son is is turning One! Mashallah!! I just can't believe it; time really has just flown by so quickly. It’s amazing to see how much Yusuf has grown from the quiet little new born "Chup Chup" (one of our earlier nicks for him) to the fiestiest and most energetic little person I know. He is definitely anything but Chup (quiet). He is extremely alert and involves himself in everything and anything going on anywhere around him, and although he can't talk much he can get his point across with his actions and two syllable sounds. There is something definitely extremely special about this little guy. When he enters a room, you can sense an instant arrival of positive energy along with him. Yusuf keeps us entertained, active (and busy) through out the day (to name a few) by:

• turning off Amma's TV right when she is in the middle of a very intense scene of an Indian Soap
• taking out Amma's nicely folded clothes from her cupboard or laundry basket all over the house   
• coaxing Abba to sit with him in the still car for hours while he plays with the steering wheels and switches

• snatching all the erasers and pencils from Isa when doing homework and distract him with constant noise

• chewing on all of Hasan's nose spray and highlighters while sitting in the middle of the desk especially when he is studying
• running around in the dry bath tub

• taking one sock off and running around the couch with it in his mouth
• misplacing one of all his sock pairs and all the remotes and phones
• updating my facebook statuses and making random calls from my phone at weird hours (sorry friends)

• turning on music in every room and dancing as soon as a tune comes on
• running away from us with his food un- chewed in his mouth and lips zipped together to prevent any more from being forced in
• running up the stairs when no one is looking and peeking from the stair case watching us panick

• pointing at everything and saying "A-jay, jay jay de de" to everything that he wants which includes sealed medicines, microwave, tupperware, spoons, straws (basically anything but his toys) and especially toothbrushes and toothpaste tubes (at sight of which the yelling of "A-jay"  gets louder) 

• Running everywhere and touching everything at the grocery stores, malls etc.

• screaming at the top of his lungs to get attention while in his car seat, in his stroller, in his high chair and in his play yard (while climbing on a toy to make him high enough to see outside and chew on the edge), when he wants something that Isa has, or when someone goes outside without taking him along

He is definitely a handful and it is hard to believe that a year ago we did not even know him. Back then our house definitely saner, but now we cannot imagine life without him, his bright smile, his loving tight hugs, slobbery kisses and his sweet way of making every member at 1826 feel  "wanted" with all the extra special love and affection he has towards us and vice versa!
