The Bey Blade Craze!

Isa has a new obsession -- bay blaze (what I thought he was saying for the longest time)..but it is actually Bey Blades. It is what he has been whining for about for a week. Apparently this the newest and coolest gadget on the block that he had to have.. especially since Rayan (his friend) has plenty. This weekend Ajee promised him that he would get him one on Sunday.

Sunday was also Yusuf's 1st birthday and all I wanted to do was to make it special for the lil guy..I mean it’s such a big Milestone, Ajee, on the other hand did not really see what the big deal was, it’s just another day and it happens to be the same date that Yusuf was born on last year..so why should we stress ourselves out on a nice Sunday afternoon when we will be doing a party for him later..he wanted to rather focus on his website (that he works on every Sunday in a secluded coffe shop away from home) he did promise to bring me back the pizza though. You know what that means -- the Bey Blades had become my problem along with the last minute shopping for the the at home b-day party.

I had to go to Target, Party City, Dollar Store, TJ Maxx but ofcourse to avoid whining throughout the trip my first stop had to be ToyRus.  Hasan was kind enough to come with me and help me out with the kids and the shopping, and the decorating!! Thanks Hasan!

As soon as we got to ToysRus, I went straight to the customer service desk since I had no clue what I was even looking for. The associate at the register told me

"Oh yeah Bayblaze..ofcourse they are right next to the restle..(mumble mumble)"

 I couldnt really understand so I asked again and he said

"yes its in boys right next to the resl..(mummnble) before Cars"

Still not really knowing what he said,  I walked ahead with Isa and  asked Isa if he understood.

"Amma I think he said near the restrooms you know where you pee!"

"Yes I know what restrooms are thank you very much!"

Knowing that restrooms were on the opposite side of the boys, I knew Isa was just as clueless as me.  So we just roamed around hoping to find another associate who would just take us where it was. Not finding anyone else, we ended at the same register with the same associate. He gave us an "are you serious?" sort of a look.

" You still didn’t find them, come I'll show you they are right by the restttlles like I said. I then saw what he was talking about, he meant Wrestlers..

Anyways after the hunt was over it was time to decide what color, which Isa chose a red and blue one but upon looking closely the red looked like a dark pink which made Isa choose another red and turquoise one, as he could not bear the thought of having something even remotely close to pink. 


Yusuf on the other hand has no issue with pink toys.



As we were getting ready to leave, Yusuf and Hasan were walking in (after coming from the pet store). Needless to say Yusuf went wild! He just wanted to run around everywhere and touch and chew everything, as he was rolling a liitle toy shopping cart I noticed that a shoe was missing.

 "What? Hasannnn how could you let him lose a shoe?" ..

"Aasshh calm down ..its probably in the car!! ".

but I still wanted to look  everywhere to make sure it was not in the store, we did finally find it in his car seat.

At each stop Isa wanted to go home so that he could just build and play with his Bey Blade. We finally made it home after buying all the paper plates, decorations, drinks, balloons. Hasan and I were just about to start decorating when the news broke that a specific "face bolt" of the bey blade was lost and Isa was pretty much in tears as now he will not be able to make the bey blade much less play with it. We checked all over, under the couches, under the tables, in the car several times but it was still nowhere to be found. I figured it probably got lost on the road somewhere (since Isa had opened the package in the car even though I told him not too), Hasan though Yusuf ate it and I should keep a close watch on his dirty diapers...Thanks Hasan, you are not helping!

Isa was now crying and was wanting me to go back to get another one. I refused and then he was trying to convince Hasan to take him and spend the $.41 he had in his little money bank. That's where I drew the line and told him he would have to wait as it was not anybody else's fault but his own. He understood that but still was extremely sad as apparently his whole life depended on this little toy.

"but Amma what am I sniff..sniff going to do without my Bay Blay..boo hoooooo?"

 Pretty soon he started playing with Rayan and his beyblades and helped us decorate  and so was in a better mood. I told him we would likely go and get him another one on Monday after work, if he still didn't find the missing part.

Infamous- BEY BLADE!

Monday at work I get a call from home. I pick up quickly hoping everything is okay and it was Isa.

" Amma I found my facebolt Bay blay part!"

"Oh Isa I am so happy..where was it?"

"It was in my shoe! now I don't have to get another one at all, I'll just go and get my performance tipp that I let Rayan borrow as soon as he comes back from his tuition"

"Yay Isa thats great news now take care of it ok? " (wondering how he could have it in his shoe for a day and not notice it)

"Ok! "

2 minutes later another phone call from Rayan's house, I got a little worried since Rayan's mom picks Isa up from school, however, it was Isa crying on the phone:

" Amma I lost 2 more parts, I found the facebolt but now the spin track blah blah is lost outside and th performance tip is lost inside the house"

"How could it get lost Isa you finally found the face bolt?"

"I don't know Amma, it got lost outside on the road, so can we go to Toys R us when you get back to get another Bey Blade?"

"No Isa you have to find it, why did you take it out of the box that I had put all the bey blade parts in?"

"But Amma its lost ..sniff sniff..how am I going to find it?? a car probably went over it"

"Too bad Isa look for it and I will think about getting another one after you at least look for it for a day"

"But Ammaa..boohoo!!!."

"Isa I have to go, I will discuss this when I get home"

Great now he lost it again..ughhh..how does he even manage to lose this much stuff. I get back to my work and a little while later the phone rings again from Rayan's house, Its Isa again.

"Amma  I found it!! Rayan found the part that was outside it was on the gutter cover and I found the other one that was at home on the sofa and now Rayan made me the Beyblade and I am playing with it now.and doing some battleship blah blah .you don't have to go to ToysRus at all or buy me another bey blade since I found it, unless I get bored ..like Rayan does, his mommy buys him a new beyblade when he gets bored of the old one.blah blah.."

"Thats great Isa..good job..I will see you when I get home byeeee!"

My Tom and Jerry - Yusi running with Isa's bey blade while Isa is trying to catch him instead of reading his school book that is in his hand.  

It was nice to go home and see a very satisfied Isa. He is happy and loves his new toy so much so that he will  lock himself inside the powder room just so that Yusuf won't bother him while he is playing, Yusuf is happy as he gets to mess around with and chew this new interesting toy when Isa is not around and I am happy I will not have to make another trip to Toys R Us ..(this week at least)!
