A Moment of Joy ...with My Little Boy! :)

Last night I was not feeling great at all...was extremely tired from the night before as Yusuf had not let me get much sleep and then I thought I may be catching something as I had a scratchy throat and a slight runny nose -btw I now have a full blown cold! To top it off my right eye lid was swollen apparently due to the lack of sleep (not a very pretty picture). Yusuf had his 9 month appointment that morning and his progress is great Mashallah, I just had to survive the after shots screaming.

Yusuf at his Doc Appointment..before shots!

After dropping him and Amma home, I went to work and got stuck in mad traffic on the way back didnt get home till after 5 and saw Isa watching TV.  I then had to argue with Isa to turn off Sponge-Bob (I hate that cartoon), then argued with him to just eat half an Ice-cream sandwich instead of the full thing (he gets even more hyper with sugar) and then argued with him to finish his reading. By then he was done arguing and willingly (although with many distractions in between) revised his spellings, did his math and took a shower while I supervised him with the baby stuck to my hip.  OMG!!..this child (Isa) has soo much energy, he is constantly jumping, moving and squealing. Adding Yusuf to this mix, just makes Isa more excited. Isa contantly gets these "CUTE ATTACKS"  when he sees Yusuf and wants to just grab his Bestie Best and run around with him everywhere. Everyone freaks out when they see Isa holding Yusuf and it is just a scene of pandemonium with the kids squealing with laughter and if not all, atleast 3 adults shouting at Isa to put Yusuf down at the same time. Yesterday was no different, but my ears and my mind just needed a break from all the noise. However, I was dealing with it, while my head was starting to throb a little bit, counting the minutes to when Ajee would arrive so that I could officially be "off duty" with at least one of the kids.
Ajee finally came, Isa was now ready for bed waiting for his father (who was finishing something on the computer) to put him to bed as usual. On the other hand Yusuf was showing no signs of sleepiness so I knew I still had a long night ahead. I was just staring in space, and with the corner of my eye watching Yusuf and Isa play. All of a sudden Isa comes up to me and sits on my lap and hugs me, and tells Ajee he wants his Amma to put him to bed. And then asks me staring at me with his big beautiful doe eyes if I could sleep with him for "just a little bit." This was just one more time (out af an infinite number) that Isa had managed to melt my heart and fill it with joy. I quickly gave into his request and ran up to his room with him, turned the lights off and  laid under the big warm and cozy comforter enjoying a precious twenty minutes of much needed rest with my Baby Isa! :)
