Just Another Manic Eid Day! (Part 1)

It is finally Eid morning and as always everything is chaotic at the Saiyed Residence. I can hear Ajee getting ready while I am still trying to catch a few extra zzzz's cuddled up with Yusuf, who is finally sleeping peacefully after a rough night.
Last night was a late night for all us ladies anyways since we were getting all the clothes and our selves ready for Eid. After dying their hair, Amma and Phuppi were up in the attic till about midnight looking for their stash of new clothes. We took votes to decide who is going to wear what, once all the options were laid out. After the final verdicts, all the men and kids' clothes were taken out and Amma ironed while Phuppi prepared for mini facials for the 3 of us. I finally made it to bed, by then Yusuf was up!!..
"Wake up Aleesh..We have 12 minutes to leave for Eid Prayers"... What?? 12 minutes!! I jump out of bed, and take a 4 in a half minute shower, throw on my clothes and get Yusuf ready, while Ajee gets Isa ready. Hasan wanders in to use the bathroom, as the hallways bathroom is occupied as usual. I put on my Hijab and coat and mange to find 2 seconds to put on some lip gloss. Which Yusuf rubs off on my way down since he can't seem to understand why his mother has something on her lips and figures it must be something he can grab and eat.
As I run down and there is commotion everywhere. Nani Amma is sitting on the white couch in the study looking really nice Mashallah in all White with a matching sweater that somehow matches not only the color but the design of her outfit as well. All her jewellery is intact: including her 12 new gold bangles, her 6 rings as well as her earrings and necklace. She is putting on lipstick and asking Phuppi to look for her shoes that match..but the ones that match don't fit her so we now have to look for the ones that fit but don't match in the shoe closet. Isa wants to wear his lace shoes but we get out his dress shoes. Amma comes down with a whole bunch of coats and shawls. Abba's only goal is to make sure everyone is in the car on time. Ajee is starting the cars. Hasan is now ready (mistakenly wearing Ajee's last Eid Outfit instead if his own brand new outfit) with his inch and a half of hair gelled and blow dried just right. After figuring out who is going to sit where we all manage to pile into the cars.
Ajee is driving my car; Nani Amma is in the front seat re-applying her face powder and lipstick. Isa is sitting quietly enjoying the ride, while I am singing "Itsy Bitsy Spider" to a screaming Yusuf who hates his car seat. Everybody else is in Ajee's car that Hasan is driving. We are finally on our way to the Mosque.
