Phuppi is leaving on Thursday for California and then is going back to Pakistan as her 6 month stay in the US is coming to an end (She will be back in May Inshallah!)..Although she is a woman of few words, she is a tremendous help and so much fun..She is known for feeding kids and fattening them up. Hasan apparently was her responsibility when he was a baby and he and his P90X are now working hard to undo the damage that was done years ago. She now works hard on getting every morsel into Yusuf so that she can quickly wash the dish and not have to keep leftovers (her pet peeve). Now that she is leaving I am already wondering who is going to give me honest opinions about my clothes, watch movies with us, fill me in on all the Indian Soaps, and clean up after Hasan??..Her presence will truly be missed.

Phuppi leaving gave us all just another excuse to make a trip to the mall. Of course like everything else, a mall trip is not a simple feat either. First we have to decide who all is going, (we only have 1 car at the moment - Hasan went to work with the other one) everyone wants to go but Nani Amma cannot stay home by herself, then we try to convince Isa to stay with Nani Amma and watch a movie, Isa declines our offer, Amma first and then Abba hesitsantly volunteer to stay, Nani Amma then decides she wants to come too. Alright..It is decided EVERYONE is coming!! So my 5 Seater SUV magically transforms into an 8 seater (can't say how, as I could get arrested) and we head to the mall. The Holiday lights, decorations and most of all the sales get all the Saiyeds excited. All us women stay together and finally agree (after many disagreements) on what to buy for everyone. After we are done shopping, Nani Amma thinks of all the people who have a Birthday coming up in November/ December in California and wants us to find suitable gifts for all of them. In the midst of all this, Ajee calls me and wants me to help him decide on something. So I walk across the mall all the way to Macy's with the kids, by the time I get back to the ladies, they have disappeared. Finally we find them in Sears looking for a few more items that Nani Amma wants to buy for various people and a woolen cap for herself. We check out and make it to the car and then try to figure out where to eat. Jason's Deli is the chosen restaurant given its proximity and the fact that it is still open. It was a perfect way to end a wonderful Saturday evening!

At Jason's Deli |
Sunday Evening was not so wonderful on the other hand. Isa's stomach was upset. Apparently he had had a half of a BIG bag of "Hot Cheetos" when no one was looking and then an Ice Cream sandwich, after that a slice of Cheese Pizza and Garlic Bread. All that would get any stomach upset, especially a 6 year old who normally does not each junk food. Around 10 o'clock, when I was changing Yusuf, Isa was on his way to our room and literally shoots out some throw up on the stairs, and then another by the foot of our bed and then 2 more shootings on the bathroom floor in a matter of 15 seconds. I literally was in a state of shock for another 30 seconds and didn't even know how to react before I freaked out. Thank God Ajee was there - he was definitley the man with a plan (as always) as I didn't even know how to handle the dark pink (thanks to the Cheetos) mess on the carpet that seemed impossible to clean up. After using many paper towels, rags, 3 different kinds of multipurpose cleaners (since we had just completely run out of carpet cleaner) the mess was finally cleaned. I then go and get a cranky Yusuf from Abba and come sit on my bed where a clean Isa is now sleeping (after being bathed by Ajee).. and I feel this wet puddle on my bed. What?? NOOOOOO!!! Yes..Isa has vomitted in his sleep!! So now we take out the comforter, sheets, mattress pad, mattress cover, and pillowcases and put it in the washer. And put Isa on his own bed. As we are in the middle of making our bed, we see Isa running to the bathroom again for another episode. That's it! He will have to sleep with us. So Isa (with his throw up bucket), Ajee, Yusuf and I sleep horizontally on our queen size bed. Isa throws up a few more times and then sleeps soundly (by then Yusuf is waking up again). He is still throwing up (just water now) in the morning. I call in and take him to his doctor in fear of dehydration, she says its just a virus that is going around and he should be fine in a few more days and prescribes him some Anti-nausea medication. DAYS!!-- Oh gosh - I think I need a prescription too!!
